Aquifer (formerly MedU) is an online case-based learning environment available to UMass Medical students. UMass offers four of the Aquifer modules - Aquifer Pediatrics (CLIPP), Aquifer Radiology (CORE), Aquifer Internal Medicine (SIMPLE), and WISE-MD (Surgery). Students are automatically added to Aquifer and should receive an email at the beginning of the year asking them to create an account. The American Medical Student Research Journal was created by medical students to give future physician-scientists the opportunity to develop the critical thinking skills needed to succeed in academia and clinical practice. The journal is authored, reviewed, and edited by medical students working under the guidance of faculty mentors. The journal seeks notable articles, of which a medical student is the primary author, which meet excellence in research standards.
