Role of a capstone project advisor:
The Capstone Scholarly Project (CSP) is a mentored, longitudinal project based on each student’s personal passion. Students are the primary drivers of projects, working with their Learning Community (LC) mentors for the FOM1 year. The LC Mentors help students in the beginning stages of their Capstone work, such as picking topics, defining initial project steps, and recommending Project Advisors.
Project Advisors Should have expertise and interest in the student’s proposed Capstone project area and available to participate as an advisor for the student through project completion. The Project Advisors provide knowledge, skills, and experience to support students in the design, execution, writing, and presentation of their work. Students submit reports on their projects each term to help guide and document their efforts.
UMass Chan faculty and students are actively involved in numerous projects, and additional projects are only constrained in their imagination. Students interested in a medical humanities project are encouraged to join the Humanities Lab mailing list, attend meetings, and complete the "Looking for a Capstone Project Advisor" form on this page.
Enter your information below and a member of the humanities lab will be in touch to connect you with possible project advisors for humanities-based projects.
