Analysis-Ready Data Sets Tutorial

Before analyzing or sharing your data, ensure that you have appropriate documentation. Appropriate documentation facilitated the understanding, analysis, sharing, and future use of your data.

1. Data should be stored with appropriate metadata (field names, value labels, etc.)
2. Create and use a data dictionary.
3. Save data as a machine-readable ASCII or UNICODE file.
4. Adopt appropriate file naming practices to accommodate multiple versions of data files.
