This curriculum consists of 21 modules that address the competency-based surgical cognitive skills needed by all medical students, not just those pursuing surgery, prior to graduation. Each module includes goals and objectives as well as clearly written content.

This curriculum consists of 33 simulation-based modules aligned to the year of medical school (Years 1-4) during which they are most commonly taught. Each module includes an assessment tool complete with rater guidelines, and has been authored and edited by experts in surgical education. The curriculum is available through the new ACS Learning Management System and can be accessed by clicking the ACS/ASE Medical Student Simulation-based Surgical Skills Curriculum link. You can log into the system with your ACS Username and Password; if you are not an ACS member, click the "create an account" link and the system will allow you to create a unique username and password.

JoMI is a collection of surgical journal articles for attendings, medical students, and residents. Create a login to access content. Each article includes video of the procedure with a voice-over and transcript of the process created by the surgeon. Specialties such as vascular, cardiac, plastic and more are represented alongside fundamentals.

Aquifer (formerly MedU) is an online case-based learning environment available to UMass Medical students. UMass offers four of the Aquifer modules, including WISE-MD (Surgery). Students are automatically added to Aquifer and should receive an email at the beginning of the year asking them to create an account.
