PubMed Central

PubMed Central

PubMed Central (PMC) is a free full-text archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM). It is the database in which all articles submitted to comply with the NIH Public Access Mandate are deposited.

If you need specific help navigating the NIH Public Access Mandate, visit the Library's NIH Public Access Policy Guide and use the contact information on that page to ask questions of our experienced librarians.

MeSH

Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) logoMeSH (Medical Subject Headings) is the NLM controlled vocabulary thesaurus used for indexing articles for PubMed. They are organized into trees with broader subjects above and narrower subjects below. A single term might appear in multiple trees. All terms can be searched in the MeSH database and added to a PubMed search. The list of terms is updated every year.
