Below are institutional memberships and agreements the library has negotiated that waive or reduce publication charges for UMass Chan corresponding authors.

American Chemical Society (ACS) "Read and Green"   agreement Our agreement allows UMass Chan corresponding authors to retain copyright to their work and immediately share it in any repository, e.g., PubMed Central, eScholarship@UMassChan, thus meeting the federal requirements for making NIH-funded publications immediately available.
American Society of Microbiology (ASM) Read and publish agreement Our agreement waives article processing charges (APCs) for UMass Chan corresponding authors publishing in the following titles: Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, Applied and Environmental Microbiology, Infection and Immunity, Journal of Bacteriology, Journal of Clinical Microbiology, Journal of Virology. Note: Page charges do apply, though UMass Chan authors receive a 25% discount on these. Members of ASM receive a 50% discount.
Biochemical Society Read and publish agreement Our agreement provides unlimited fee-free open access publishing across all 7 of their journals for UMass Chan corresponding authors.
BioMed Central (BMC) Institutional membership 15% discount on article processing charges for BioMed Central and SpringerOpen journals
BMJ Case Reports Institutional membership Our Fellowship membership allows faculty, staff and students to submit unlimited case reports for free. Contact us at Ask A Librarian for the access code and instructions.
Cambridge University Press Read and publish agreement Our agreement waives article processing charges (APCs) for open access titles that meet certain criteria. 
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press (CSHLP) Read and publish agreement The agreement, expiring December 2027, provides 5 opportunities for UMass Chan corresponding authors to publish their manuscripts open access in the following CSHLP journals, without any article processing charges (APCs): Genes & Development, Genome Research, RNA and Learning & Memory. Once we reach the 5 publications limit (annually), corresponding authors will be able to take advantage of a discounted rate on APCs ($2,035, compared to the regular $3,700).
Company of Biologists Read and publish agreement Our agreement waives article processing charges (APCs) for open access titles that meet certain criteria.

Public Library of Science (PLoS)

Read & Publish Agreement

Our agreement waives article processing charges (APCs) for UMass Chan corresponding authors to publish in these PLoS titles: PLoS Biology, PLoS Complex Systems, PLoS Computational Biology, PLoS Digital Health, PLoS Genetics, PLoS Medicine, PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases, PLoS ONE, PLoS Pathogens, and PLoS Sustainability & Transformation.
