Library Service Point: Library Account

Library Account Privileges*

Use your library account to:  

  • View Lamar Soutter Library items you have checked out
  • Renew items
  • Check the status of holds
  • Reset your password
  • Save your search history
  • Find your Library Account # (Barcode)
    • Used for logging into Proxy or Interlibrary Loan

*Library Access and Privileges vary by your User Group. If you have any questions about your Library Account or access to resources, please use Ask a Librarian.

 

Request a New Library Account

To apply for a new library account (barcode) please submit the Library Requests Form.

Login to the Library Catalog (Primo)

To access your library account, go to the Library Catalog (Primo) then click "Sign in" in the upper right corner.

For Patrons With a umassmed.edu Account:

Select login with UMass Chan SSO (if you have a UMass Chan email) 

For Patrons Without a umassmed.edu Email

Select Login to Primo with your Library Account.  Enter your email or library account # (barcode) and password. If you don't know your password, follow the steps below.

 

Reset Your Library Account Password

After selecting "Password Reset" choose to enter EITHER a User ID = Library Account # (Barcode) OR email address. Then click send. Your password reset email will be sent to your primary email address (usually your organizational email).

Once You Are Logged Into the Library Catalog (Primo)

Now that you are logged in, you can view your information and make any updates to your personal information by clicking on "Library Card."

 

Your Library Card has a link for Personal Details that you can edit. However, if you are a UMass Chan student, any changes you make will be overwritten by what is in PeopleSoft.

Your Library Account # is your Barcode and is listed under "User Identifiers"
