Mary E. Maloney, M.D., is a Professor of Medicine (Dermatology) at the University of Massachusetts School and Chief of the Division of Dermatology at UMass Memorial Health Care in Worcester, MA. Her research interests involve cutaneous oncology and the practice of dermatologic surgery. Specifically Dr. Maloney is interested in high risk Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) and Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC): how to recognize a high risk tumor, and how to tr at it aggressively to prevent recurrence. She is working on identifying a variant of poorly differentiated SCC, predicting outcomes, and trying to identify the patient population that has this type of tumor. She has also worked and continues to work on preventing surgical complications. In addition, Dr. Maloney has been very active in leadership development and speaks on time management, career development, and professionalism.
