Kristin Mattocks, PhD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Quantitative Health Sciences and Psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and the Associate Chief of Staff for Research at VA Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System. Dr. Mattocks' research focuses on understanding women veterans' reproductive health care services, with a particular focus on pregnancy, maternity care coordination, and infertility issues. Dr. Mattocks recently received a VA Merit Award to examine the use of non-VA care among women Veterans, with a particular focus on the use of fee basis pregnancy and mammography care. Dr. Mattocks also conducts research that examines LGBT healthcare access in the VA, and has conducted numerous interviews with lesbian and bisexual veterans to understand their experiences and perceptions of VA healthcare. Dr. Mattocks is also the chair of the VA LGBT Research Working Group and also the co-chair of the VA Reproductive Health Research Working Group, as well as the VISN 1 Research Director. Dr. Mattocks received her undergraduate degree from Pacific Lutheran University and her masters and doctoral degrees from Yale University.
