Find information, resources, and opportunities to be a mentor or mentee. The goal is to enhance the culture of mentoring at UMMS—to ensure that all faculty have access to mentors, that mentors have the support to be effective, and that both have the resources to establish and sustain a mentoring relationship.

• NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health offers mentoring resources to help researchers create collaborative partnerships.

• The Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health (BIRCWH) is a mentoring program connecting  junior faculty to senior faculty with shared research interests in women’s health and sex differences research.

• Mentoring in the Health Professions, Sciences and Technology Resources was developed by the University of Michigan and offers helpful guides and research articles about how to design a program.

Million Women Mentors is an engagement campaign and national call to action that mobilizes corporations, government entities, non-profit and higher education groups, around the imperative of mentoring girls and young women in STEM fields. Million Women Mentors supports the engagement of one million science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) mentors (male and female) to increase the interest and confidence of girls and young women to persist and succeed in STEM programs and careers.

MentorNet is a social network for mentoring open to any STEM student in the U.S. STEM students are mentored by professionals working in STEM fields.
