Cultural Approaches to Pediatric Palliative Care in Central Massachusetts: Pediatric Palliative Care Team

 The Pediatric Palliative Care Team at the Children’s Medical Center provides inpatient and outpatient consults with appropriate follow-up care in the home.  The team is multi-disciplinary and provides a comprehensive, coordinate delivery of care to children with life threatening illnesses and their families to relieve their suffering, improve their quality of life and help them as caregivers cope more effectively with end-of-life care.

The Children's Medical Center offers an annual Pediatric Remembrance Ceremony to remember the children who have died here at UMass over the last few years.  We invite the children’s friends and family to come and share with us in remembering their child.  The ceremony is celebrated annually in April.  Please contact Jennifer Costa, CPNP, at 508-334-0485 for more information.
